History of our Company
Wine cellars Lechovice boast about the greatest area of own vineyards in wine region of Znojmo, what enables them production of quality wines with appellation „filled by vineyarder“. Wine cellars Lechovice belong to traditional producers of quality natural wines in wine subregion of Znojmo where the vine-growing has deep roots. The records preserved about the greatest development of vineculture are connected with Loucký cloister in Znojmo. In 1723 there was permitted the sinking of a cellar in Lechovice park, this cellar is now used for manufacture of wines with highest quality. The cellar was finished 114 years later, in 1837. The technical solution of cellar areas, which you can see, ensures the stable temperature 12 degrees Celsius and surroundings ideal for manufacture and wine ageing in barrels. The present company arises in 1993 and follows in long year traditions of Lechovice vineculture. The total area of company vineyards whose location is kept during centuries is 230 hectares. The vineyears belong to cadaster of wine villages Borotice, Božice, Oleksovice and Lechovice. In this area there are preferred above all white aromatic wines. The grapes, thanks to slow ageing and to reduced picking, reach to high quality and aroma typical for north wine areas. Above all, here are appreciated the cultivars Sauvignon, Pálava and Tramín; repeated prizegivings even in international exhibits go to show it. The wine cellar Lechovice obtained Certificate of Integrated Production of Grapes and Wines. Basic endeavour of the company is to use biological ways for protection in vineyards. The company has been certified according to the norm ISO ČSN EN 9001 in 2006, this norm ensures the abidance by requirements in order the quality of the products delivered by the company in market, to be improved and controlled all the time. Furthermore, according to the norm ISO ČSN EN 14001, which ensures implementation and maintenance of such methods which are friendly to nature and to environment. At wine production there are used both classic technology of manufacture in wooden barrels, and modern processing in great-capacity rustless ponds by means of new technologies, cider centrifuging, pure culture of yeasts and directed process of fermentation. The first-rate way of bottlings is ensured by modern filling line. By storage of sparkling wine on bottom of dam we entered as winemakers on unknown ground. It is necessary to ensure for the sparkling wine the error-free closing of bottles for ageing and to solve technically their untouchability. The sparkling wine stored on the bottom of Vranov dam is produced traditionally from cultivars Veltlínské zelené (Green Veltlín), Muškát moravský(Moravian Muscadel) and Ryzlink rýnský (Rhine riesling). So created wine is verified combination for production of Lechovice sparkling wine, at his production there is used the method of traditional fermentation in bottle.
